White & burgundy striped huipil w/ fringe bottom. Colotenango.
In Guatemala villages have a traditional huipil style that is distinct and recognizable. However because they are made by hand, no two huipiles are alike. The base material is woven on a back-strap loom, and then decorated with hand embroidery. Each piece is the product of many hours of skilled work and generations of cultural knowledge.
